Formula for tip percentage
Tip percentage = (tip amount ÷ bill) × 100
Use the original bill amount as the denominator. A zero-dollar bill cannot produce a meaningful tip percentage.
Example: $16 tip ÷ $80 bill × 100 = 20%.
